12-Position Handle and Manual Control

The gripper handle engages twelve detents across a 180-degree arc. Each position locks the disc at a set angle, so flow stays repeatable between shifts. The handle body is stainless steel for washdown areas.

A lockout hole allows secure isolation during maintenance. A sanitary butterfly valve actuator can replace the handle when the line moves to automated control.

Seat Materials and Temperature Range

Seat compounds include EPDM, silicone, and NBR. EPDM handles water and steam service. Silicone covers higher temperatures and organic acids. NBR suits oil and fuel duties where EPDM swells.

Seat choice sets the temperature limit and the CIP compatibility. A seat that hardens under steam loses compression and leaks at the disc edge.

Installation and Maintenance Steps

1. Confirm the thread size and type match the female port.

2. Apply a food-grade sealant or fit the shoulder gasket.

3. Screw the valve in with hand, then tighten to rated torque.

4. Cycle the handle through all positions before pressurizing.

5. Inspect the seat and disc at scheduled intervals.

Over-tightening the thread can crack the port or distort the body. Under-tightening leaves a leak path at the shoulder.
