Pressure Retention – The Core Design Challenge

Internal pressure exerts an outward force on the manway cover. For a 400 mm opening at 6 bar, this force exceeds 75 kN – enough to deform a poor design. A stainless steel manway addresses this with a cover plate (8–12 mm thick for 6 bar) and a full-face sealing flange that distributes clamping force evenly.
