A cavity-filled seat sanitary ball valve with an ISO5211 mounting pad removes the void between ball and body, so media cannot lodge in the flow path. The valve uses SS304 or SS316L, a clamped connection, 3/4" to 4" size, 0-10 bar, -20°C to 120°C, and a PTFE seat. It suits water and oil lines. Confirm full seat enclosure, pad bolt pattern, and clamp size at selection.

Cavity-Filled Seat Stops Media Stagnation

A standard ball valve forms a gap between ball channel and body when partly open. Media enters that space. CIP fluid cannot flush it. Residue sits there and spoils later batches.

A cavity-filled seat uses a one-piece PTFE liner that wraps the ball face. The liner fills every gap between ball and body. Media moves only through the full bore. The wetted path stays smooth.

  •  Cavity-filled seat leaves no void at part-open.

  •  PTFE liner wraps the ball face.

  •  Media passes only through the full bore.

  •  CIP and SIP fluids reach the seal area.

  •  Forward and reverse pressure hold zero leakage.

This geometry matters most on lines that switch products often. Each changeover exposes any retained volume to the next batch. A seat that fills the cavity removes that volume before it can hold residue.

ISO5211 Pad for Actuator Mounting

An ISO5211 mounting pad gives a standard actuator interface. A pneumatic or electric actuator bolts on without a bracket or coupling. Fewer parts mean fewer leak points.

The square stem on the pad mates with the actuator output. It carries 90-degree torque. Standard bolt circles let different actuator brands swap without adapters.

Pad sizes follow the F03 to F10 range. Small bodies take F03 or F04 for compact actuators. Larger bodies use F05 to F10 for higher torque. Matching the pad to the actuator torque prevents stem twist and seat damage.

Three-Piece Body Maintenance Advantage

A three-piece body has two end caps and a center section. Loosen the bolts to remove the ball and seat. The pipe connections stay in place. This clamp ball valve design suits lines that need frequent sterilization or batch changes.

  1. Confirm the seat fully encloses the ball.

  2. Match the ISO5211 pad bolt pattern to the actuator.

  3. Verify the clamp size from 3/4" to 4".

  4. Check the PTFE seat against media and temperature.

  5. Confirm the pressure rating for the line.

The clamped connection allows removal without welding or cutting pipe. That saves downtime on skid-mounted systems where access is tight.

Material and Surface Requirements

Wetted parts use SS304 or SS316L. Internal surfaces are machined to Ra ≤ 0.8 μm. Electropolishing lowers roughness further and reduces microbial attachment. A hygienic ball valve built this way meets cleanable design rules.

A stainless steel sanitary valves range with PTFE seats handles repeated steam cycles. The seat resists water, oil, and common cleaning agents. Surface finish and seat material decide how well the valve cleans.

Valve bodies pass a shell test and a seat leak test before shipment. Documentation may include a 3.1 material certificate on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a cavity-filled seat the same as a full-port ball valve?
No. Full port describes bore size. Cavity-filled describes seat geometry. A valve can have both.

Can the ISO5211 pad be added later?
No. The pad is cast or machined with the body. Confirm it at order.

Does the cavity-filled seat change flow capacity?
No. The full bore stays open. The liner only fills the space between ball and body.

Can the valve work under vacuum?
Yes. The seat holds the ball in place under positive or negative pressure.

Which lines need this valve?
Pharma dosing, biotech fermentation, dairy, beer, and CIP circuits.
